A Go-To Combo

I like a good juxtaposition, especially when it comes to clothing. I always admire bloggers, fashion houses and generally people who are able to pull of a great look by mixing masculine and feminine pieces together. Admittedly this is the closest you are going to get from me. I'm wearing this knit black midi skater skirt that has a very feminine easy-going nature to it (I can totally imagine just wearing a beautiful blouse on top with a pair of heels) paired with my go-to leather jacket that I got a few months ago from Aritzia. I have to say, it was worth the investment. Since I wanted the look to be more casual (and because I feel weird walking around in heels at school) I paired the look with my converse to really downplay the look. This will definitely become a go-to combination for me during the warmer winter days to give myself a little break from the consistency of only wearing pants during the frosty winter season in Canada. What do you think of the look? Sound off in the comments!

I'm back, I swear.

Hello friends!

First off, happy new year! Can you believe that it is already 2015? Time has flown by, and obviously so has my time away from this blog. I admit, I have been neglecting this page lately, for many valid reasons, I swear. An explanation would take forever, but here is an overview:
1) I live in Edmonton, where the sun rises at 9am and sets by 3-4pm. This leaves me with a very small window of time to photograph in daylight.
2) Coincidentally I am a full-time student, that unfortunately means that lectures and labs coincide with daylight in Edmonton.
3) It has been freezing in here in Canada, no joke, that average high for the last week was -19 degrees Celsius. Yay.

Enough with excuses, I have made a resolution to post at least twice a month, I swear. I am a changed woman & 2015 will be a new year.

Now today was finally a beautiful day. I don't feel like my fingers and toes will fall off & I am clearly in a very happy mood to actually see the sun!

I thought I would celebrate this momentus change in weather by taking out my beloved Saint Laurent Bag, paired with skinny jeans and ankle boots. It's still cold though, so I went for a blazer, with a turtleneck, because there is no way I'm going outside with a cami and blazer.  I have been really loving looks paired with turtlenecks. I find that turtlenecks add a more casual, warm & exciting element to an outfit that gives a nice change to the aesthetic of the clothing you pair with it.

For now, that is all I can think of, but I will be back. I promise.

Until my next post, thanks for reading!
